IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE START OF TERM TWO

(please share with all of our FBS whanau)

Kia ora, Kia orana, Malo lelei, Talofa lava, Namaste, Fakalofa lahi atu, Bula vinaka,  Ni hao, greetings to all whanau and friends of Flat Bush School

We hope that you are all safe and well.

Wednesday-the 15th of April is the start of Term Two.

Our teachers have been working hard during the term break to set up the Flat Bush School Distance Learning programme which we have called Flat Bush School-DL

This new way of working with our learners, while not being at school together will be a new experience for us all.

FBS- DL has activities that require internet access, and activities that don’t.

Our school’s website www.flatbush.school.nz is the main place to access each classes FBS-DL activities.

Our teachers will be connecting with their learners and whanau from the 15th, either by call, text or email.

On Tuesday- the 14th of April at 6pm each room will have its class page set up and ready for our learners and their whanau to connect to their FBS-DL activities.

All FBS whanau are welcome to contact your child’s teacher by email at any time.

The great news is that the majority of our learners received their FBS learning packs at the end of Term One, or have had them delivered during the term break.

In the packs are activities, stationery and a Home Learning exercise book, our learners can keep all of this work and bring it back to school when we restart.

Also, being delivered to homes will be;

  • Exploring Learning Kits for our Year 1-3 learners
  • Learning Kits for all Year 1-6 learners

These kits have been provided by the Ministry of Education and are for our learners and their whānau to keep, they do not require a device or internet access.

Also, the NZ Government are providing a TV channel that will share education related content from Monday to Friday.

We are still waiting to find out if our school will recieve the Ministry provided devices.

Please DO NOT expect your child to do school work from 9-3pm each day and do not feel stressed about them missing out, or going back in their learning.

Once we get back to school our teachers will be working with all of our learners to catch up on things we have missed out on during lockdown.

Enjoy this unique time with your beautiful children, our staff miss them and cannot wait to get back to school and back to normal.

For now, our FBS-DL is our ‘normal’, and we intend to make the best of it.

Thank you for your amazing support.
Stay home. Stay safe. Stay in your bubble. Be kind.

Love to you all from the Staff and Board of Trustees of Flat Bush School.
